Verdicts for Cajnice and Sijekovac Crimes Due Next Week

In the week ahead the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina, BiH, is due to pronounce verdicts against Milun Kornjaca for crimes in Cajnice and Zemir Kovacevic for crimes in Sijekovac, Bosanski Brod municipality.

The pronouncement of the verdict against Kornjaca, former Commander of “Plavi Orlovi” Unit, and Kovacevic, former member of the Interventions Squad with the First Bosanski Brod Brigade, is scheduled for Wednesday, May 21.  

Kornjaca is charged with the persecution, beating and torture of Bosniaks and unlawful detention and murder of 11 civilians from Brdo village. Also, he is charged with having failed to undertake measures in order to punish the perpetrator of the murder of 27 civilians in the hunters’ house at Mostina.  

Kovacevic is charged with having killed, robbed and unlawfully arrested Serb civilians.
 
The trial of Savo Tepic, Dragoslav Bojic, Dusko Vujicic, Dusko Maksimovic, Radojko Keverovic, Rade Skoric and Ilija Kurusic, who are charged with crimes in Kotor-Varos, is due to begin on Monday, May 19 with reading of the indictment and presentation of introductory statements.  

At the trial of Nihad Bojadzic, who is charged with crimes in Jablanica, first defence witnesses are due to be examined on Thursday, May 22.  

A hearing at which the Prosecution of BiH will request extension of custody for Marijan Brnjic, Ilija Glavas, Pavo Glavas and Martin Barukcic, who are suspected of crimes against Serb civilians in the Odzak area, is scheduled for Monday next week.
The continuation of the trial of Oliver Krsmanovic, who is charged with crimes in Visegrad, is scheduled for Tuesday, May 20. Bosiljko and Ostoja Markovic, whom the State Prosecution charges with the rape of a minor person, are due to appear in court on that same day as well.

On Wednesday the trials are due to continue in the case against Vitomir Rackovic, who is charged with crimes in Visegrad, Ostoja Stanisic and Marko Milosevic, who are indicted for genocide in Srebrenica, and Marinko and Zoran Bjelica, as well as Novica Tripkovic, who are indicted for crimes in Kalinovik.  

The trial of Nedzad Hodzic and Dzevad Salcin, who are charged with crimes on Mount Igman in 1993, is due to continue on Thursday, as well as the trial against Indira Kameric, who is indicted for crimes in Bosanski Brod.  

On that same day the trials are due to continue in the case against Mustafa Djelilovic, Fadil Covic, Mirsad Sabic, Nezir Kazic, Becir Hujic, Halid Covic, Serif Mesanovic and Nermin Kalember, who are charged with crimes in the Hadzici area, and Nikola Maric, who is charged with crimes in Prozor.

On Friday new witnesses are due to be examined at the trials of Josip Tolic, who is charged with crimes in Bosanski Brod and Odzak, Vehid Subotic, who is indicted for crimes in Zenica, and Ibro Macic for crimes in the Konjic area.  

The trial of Safet Mujcinovic, Selman Busnov, Nusret Muhic, Zijad Hamzic, Ramiz Halilovic, Nedzad Hodzic, Hariz Habibovic and Osman Gogic for crimes in the Kladanj area is due to continue on Friday.  

On Wednesday, May 21 the retrial is due to continue in the case against Mehura Selimovic, Adil Ruznic and Emir Mustafic, who are charged with crimes in Krajina.
