Trial Chamber Chairman Davorin Jukic said that the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina had just found out about the protection measures, so the witness could not testify. Jukic ordered the Prosecution of Bosnia and Herzegovina to find out what specific measures were granted to the witness by the next hearing.

Zemir Kovacevic, a former member of the Interventions Squad with the First Bosanski Brod Brigade, which turned into the 101st Bosanski Brod Brigade of the Croatian Defence Council, HVO, is charged with having committed crimes against Serb civilians in Sijekovac village in March 1992.

The indictment alleges that Kovacevic participated in an attack on Sijekovac village and that, acting in collaboration with others, he took 15 adults and four Serb children from their houses to a courtyard. Some of those people were killed.

Kovacevic has been held in custody since October 2011. The trial began in July last year.

The Prosecution of Bosnia and Herzegovina announced that it would read statements given by eight witnesses, who have since died, at the next hearing scheduled for June 12 this year.
