Witness S-100, who said during the course of his examination on November 1 that he took money and other valuables away from men in Potocari, acting on orders issued by Nedjo Milidragovic and indictee Goran Markovic, said at this hearing that he was a member of a squad commanded by Milidragovic, adding he received orders from him.
The Defence of indictee Goran Markovic asked the witness why he said earlier that Markovic also ordered him to take the money away, although he did not mention his name during the course of the investigation. The witness responded by saying that Milidragovic and Markovic shared the same office.
“Maybe I mentioned Nedjo because he was the chief. There were other groups whose members took money away from people. Nedjo and Goran ordered me and person A to do it,” the witness said.
The State Prosecution has charged Markovic, Dusko Jevic, Mendeljev Djurićc and Nedjo Ikonic with genocide committed in Srebrenica in July 1995.
The indictment alleges that Jevic was Commander of the Jahorina Training Center with the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Republika Srpska, MUP RS, Djuric and Ikonic were company commanders and Markovic was a squad commander.
During the course of cross-examination Jevic’s Defence suggested, as a possibility, that the indictee was just the Center Manager, while Goran Saric was its Commander. Saric was Commander of the Special Police Brigade with MUP RS. The Training Center on Mount Jahorina was part of the Brigade.
The witness said he remembered Jevic having been “the chief man on Jahorina”, adding that Jevic addressed them prior to their departure, informing them about the location and goal of their field mission.
The witness said in an previous statement that Milidragovic executed a group of between 15 and 20 Bosniaks, and the Defence asked if Jevic was present at that location. Witness S-100 answered negatively.
“While I was in Potocari, I saw Jevic on a UNPROFOR ramp and the main road. He was talking to UNPROFOR members,” the witness said.
The trial is due to continue on Thursday, November 11, when a new protected Prosecution witness will testify.
