Lipovac was a former member of the 103rd Brigade of the Croatian Defense Council and the commander of a detention camp in a school building in the Poljari village. He signed a plea agreement with the state prosecution at the end of last year, admitting to participating in war crimes in 1992.

The agreement has been filed with the state court, which will announce its decision on whether to accept the agreement on Tuesday, January 12.

On Tuesday, January 12, the trial of Mile Pazin, Ivica Markovic and Vido Kresic will continue. The defendants were charged with war crimes in the municipality of Stolac. On the same date, the first defense witnesses will testify at the trial of Mitar Vlasenko, Rade Vlasenko and Drago Koncar, who’ve been charged with crimes in Prijedor.

On Thursday, January 14, the trial of Almaz Nezirovic will begin. Nezirovic has been charged with war crimes in the Derventa area. On the same date, defense teams will also present closing statements at the trial of Fikret Planincic, Rasim Lisancic, Sead Menzil and Mirsad Vatrac, charged with war crimes in Kotor-Varos.

Trials for war crimes committed in Bileca, Prijedor, Srebernik, Rogatica, Mostar, Bihac, Srebrenica, Stolac, Sanski Most, Kladanj, Livno and Prozor will also continue in the week ahead.
