Ninkovic Retrial Begins on December 29

The retrial of Branislav Ninkovic, a former guard at the district prison in Doboj, will begin at the district court of Doboj on December 29.

The Supreme Court of Republika Srpska repealed the first instance verdict, which sentenced Ninkovic to two years in prison for war crimes against civilians.

He was found guilty of the inhumane treatment of six non-Serb detainees. He punched, kicked and beat the detainees with batons several times in the district prison of Doboj from May 1992 to March 1993.
