The prosecution filed the request through the Ministry of Justice of Bosnia and Herzegovina. Veseli, a former member of the Bosnian Army, is suspected of having stabbed a 12 year old boy to death in Kamenica, near Zvornik, in July 1992.

“The prosecutor and investigators have received information indicating that the suspect, Veseli, is in the vicinity of Neuchatel in Switzerland. Considering the fact that all of the witnesses, certain pieces of evidence and injured parties in the case are located in Bosnia and Herzegovina, the prosecutor submitted a proposal to the Ministry of Justice of Bosnia and Herzegovina to submit an extradition request,” the state prosecution announced.

The Bosnian state prosecution said it would continue an investigation against Veseli’s former commander as well.

A few months ago, when an indictment against Naser Oric and Sabahudin Muhic was filed for war crimes committed in the Srebrenica and Bratunac area, the state prosecution announced it would request the extradition of Veseli as well.

Oric and Muhic, who pleaded not guilty in mid October, are waiting for their trial proceedings to begin.
