The state prosecution has charged Glogovac, a former military police officer with the Doboj operational group of the Ninth Battalion of the First Krajiski Corps of the Bosnian Serb Army, with causing severe physical and mental suffering to civilians and prisoners of war.
The injured parties were allegedly detained in the basement of the Franjo Herljevic hunting lodge in Kamenica in the municipality of Zavidovici from June-August 1992. Glogovac allegedly acted in collaboration with other members of the Bosnian Serb Army.
According to the indictment, Glogovac beat detainees Ahmedin Memcic, Zuhdija Memcic, Besir Softic and others. He kicked them and punched them until they lost consciousness. The beatings allegedly occurred several times a day.
Radinko Tripunovic, a former military police officer with the Ninth Battalion of the First Krajiski Corps and Doboj Tactical Group, testified at today’s hearing. Tripunovic said he worked with Glogovac at the Kamenica detention camp.
“There was this group of men. The four last prisoners, who stayed imprisoned until the end, were held in the prison in Kamenica. At the Franjo Herljevic center,” Tripunovic said.
According to Tripunovic, the prisoners were held in Kamenica until December 1992. He said he heard rumours that a guard allowed soldiers to enter the prison.
Tripunovic said Glogovac was adjoined to the military police and performed tasks along with other military police officers.
During cross-examination Tripunovic said it was possible that the Ninth Battalion was formed in late July 1992 and that Glogovac was adjoined to it at the beginning of August.
The trial will continue on October 22.
