Nikola Maric’s defense plans on examining 24 witnesses and one expert witness at trial, and will also present approximately 130 pieces of material evidence.
Maric, a former member of the Croatian Defense Council, has been charged with 25 counts of persecution, including acts of murder, torture and other inhumane acts committed in the Prozor area between November 1992 to October 1993.
Presenting her evidence presentation plan at a status conference, defense attorney Irena Pehar said Maric would testify in his own defense. She also said the defense would cover the expenses related to the testimony of the expert witness, who would travel from another country.
The first defense witnesses are due to appear before the Bosnian state court on September 10.
