In July 2014, the cantonal court of Bihac sentenced Kovacevic to 18 months in prison for mistreating prisoners of war in 1995. Begic and Anadolac were acquitted of the same charges.

Ilhana Tahmaz-Jamak, the court spokesperson, said a retrial would be held for Kovacevic and Anadolac at the cantonal court of Bihac.

According to the charges, Kovacevic and Anadolac, accompanied by other members of military police, kicked and beat prisoners with police batons and rifle butts while transporting them on March 11, 1995.

The indictment alleges that Begic was the commander of a squad with the Second Company of the Fifth Battalion of the Bosnian Army’s military police.
