Maric Sentenced to One Year in Prison

Maric, a former police commander and the deputy commander of the Security and Information Services of the Croatian Defense Council in Kiseljak, was found guilty of participating in the deportation of Bosniaks from Kiseljak, Gromljak and Han Ploca in the summer of 1993. He was also found guilty of mental and physical abuse and the confiscation of property.
Maric was acquitted of charges that he committed war crimes against prisoners of war. He was also acquitted of charges that he unlawfully captured Bosnian Army soldier Jusuf Muratovic in the village of Han Ploca, near Kiseljak.
The parties have the right to file an appeal with the Supreme Court of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
