“Honourable court, I plead not guilty,” said Milovanovic.

The Bosnian state prosecution has charged Milovanovic, a former member of the Bosnian Serb Army, with the rape of a Croat woman in Sase in the municipality of Srebrenica in May 1992.

The prosecution alleges that Milovanovic committed the rape while threatening the injured party with a knife, and telling her that he would kill her if she told anyone about her rape.

The indictment was confirmed on January 26.

Judge Saban Maksumic said the prosecution’s proposal to transfer the case to the competent entity court would be forwarded to the extra-procedural chamber.

The decision will be rendered at a later stage.
