Documents about Military Police’s Role

Official documents regarding the establishment of military police, appointment of commanding staff and reports about it work in the period from June to September 1992 were among more than 100 pieces of material evidence, which were included in the case file.
“The documents refer to the general context of happenings and activities related to the confiscation of weapons, arrests and the role of military police,” Prosecutor Zorica Djurdjevic explained.
The Prosecutor also presented a series of documents about the activities of the 9thMountain Brigade of ABiH and Nezir Kazic as its Commander. Most of the documents were actually orders, which were not explained individually during the hearing
Kazic, Mustafa Djelilovic, Fadil Covic, Mirsad Sabic, Becir Hujic, Halid Covic, Serif Mesanovic and Nermin Kalember are charged with crimes against detainees in “Silos” and “Krupa” military barracks.
According to the charges, Kazic was Commander of the 9th Mountain Brigade of ABiH and Hujic, just like Halid Covic, was Manager and Deputy Manager of “Silos”. Mesanovic was one of the Deputy Managers of “Silos” and Manager of a detention camp in “Krupa” barracks, while Kalember was a guard in “Silos”. The other indictees were members of civil and police authorities.
The Prosecutor said that, on the basis of the documents included in the case file, one could see who was responsible for “Silos” and “Krupa”, adding that they also mentioned the works performed on the frontlines.
Explaining one of the presented documents, Prosecutor Djurdjevic said that the document showed who was responsible for detainees, as well as “the discriminatory relation towards Serb detainees”.
She presented five documents related to actions by the 14th Division of ABiH, which took over the responsibility over “Silos” at a certain moment.
The Prosecution of BiH is due to continue presenting material evidence on January 22.
