This is the second time this year that Alic, who lives in Belgium, has failed to appear at his plea hearing.
Judge Zoran Bozic said that summons was sent to the indictee via a diplomatic-consular office, but no return information had been received, so the hearing was postponed until further notice.
Alic is charged with having been engaged in guarding the unlawfully detained Serb civilians on the fifth floor of the Central Prison in Sarajevo and military prison in the former “Viktor Bubanj” military barracks from July to the end of October 1992.
The indictment alleges that he participated in beating of civilians and forcing one person into having sexual intercourse.
