Dusko Ninkovic, president of the District court in Doboj, hopes that the work will soon begin, after several meetings with potential donors, which were organized by the High Judicial and Prosecutorial Council of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

“We had concrete agreements and conclusions regarding the renewal of that part of judicial institutions. Tenders were called. We have no data in which phase is that and when the tender will be closed, having in mind that the legal procedure is slow,” Ninkovic said.

Torrent devastated the writing-room, admission office, cash desk, and the room for protected witness of the District court on the ground floor. Basic court, as well as Commerce court and District Prosecutor’s office in Doboj are based in the same building.

War crimes cases were not damaged in the floods, said court’s president adding that trials in four cases will continue in September.

“In seven cases there are international warrants issued for the suspects, who are in other countries, mainly in Croatia,” Ninkovic said adding that in this regard “some measures are being taken through the prosecution in order to make concrete cooperation with Croatia in terms of exchange of evidence and possible transfer of the cases.”

Ninkovic said that there are no legal obstacles for war crimes trial to continue, but completely devastated room for the protected witness will represent technical problem.
