Among other things, the Defence included, in the case file, a document issued by the First Dobrinja Brigade of the Army of Bosnia and Herzegovina, ABiH, containing a list of Serbs at whose places weapons and ammunition had been found.

As said by Defence attorney Emir Kapidzic, among others, the list contained names of persons mentioned in the State Prosecution’s indictment against Vintila and Ramiz Avdovic.

The Defence also presented criminal cases against Serbs due to illegal possession of weapons, which were conducted before the District Court in Sarajevo.

As explained by Kapidzic, they were arrested for having committed a crime, not because they were Serbs.

Vintila and Avdovic are charged with crimes committed in “Viktor Bubanj” military barracks and on the fifth floor of the District Prison in Sarajevo. The Prosecution of BiH considers that Serbs civilians, who were detained in those buildings, were subjected to suffering, torture and forced to perform hard labour.

According to the charges, Avdovic was Commander of guards on the fifth floor of the District Prison in Sarajevo and former “Viktor Bubanj” military barracks, while Vintila was a cook and guard in the former barracks.

The trial is due to continue on September 9.
