Nusret Avdibegovic, known as Beg, said that he saw Bojadzic in the Command of the Third Battalion of “Neretvica” Brigade of ABiH, in Bradina, Konjic municipality, on April 15, 1993, one night prior to the crimes.

Avdibegovic, who commanded the Battalion, told the Court that a meeting was held in Bradina in order to discuss military issues and that Bojadzic was present.

“The meeting began in the evening hours. It was an extremely long meeting,” the witness said, testifying in defence of Bojadzic.

Avdibegovic was previously suspected of having committed crimes in Trusina but the investigation against him was discontinued.

Bojadzic is on trial, along with Mensur Memic, Dzevad Salcin and Nedzad Hodzic, former members of “Zulfikar” Unit, as well as Senad Hakalovic, former member of “Neretvica” Brigade of ABiH, for having committed crimes in Trusina.

Bojadzic, former Deputy Commander of “Zulfikar” Unit, is charged with having ordered his soldiers to attack Trusina and allegedly issued an order that there should be no survivors in the village. Also, he is charged with having commanded the attack via a communication device from a nearby hill.

The indictment alleges that 18 civilians and four captured members of the Croatian Defence Council, HVO, were killed in Trusina.

As he said, witness Avdibegovic was on Mount Bitovnja between Bradina and Trusina on the day of the Trusina crimes, April 16. He said that, on that day he saw a vehicle transporting a member of “Zulfikar” Unit, who had been wounded in Trusina.

Testifying in defence of Bojadzic, Sadik Alihodzic confirmed that he was on Mount Bitovnja with his Commander Avdibegovic on April 16, 1993 and that he too noticed the vehicle.

Witness Fadil Karic, former member of the Third Battalion of “Neretvica” Brigade, told the Court that he saw indictee Bojadzic in Bradina on April 16.

He said that he was in front of the Command, when an SUV arrived. A doctor told him that the vehicle brought a member of “Zulfikar” Unit, whom he knew very well.

“I went to Nihad to give him the news right away,” the witness said.

The trial is due to continue on July 7.
