The Prosecution filed its request for extension of prohibiting measures following the confirmation of the indictment in late April this year.

Prosecutor Dragan Corlija requested the Court to extend a ban on them leaving Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as the obligation to report to police on a weekly basis.

Essentially, the Defence did not object to the proposed measures, but it proposed that the indictees report to police once a month or once in 15 days.

“Our objections are limited to the obligation to report to a state body. By having to report to the police, he loses one working day. It would be good if the reporting could be done less frequently, so he would have to report once a month only,” said Goran Bubic, Defence attorney of indictee Bosiljko Markovic.

The Defence of Ostoja Markovic agreed with this proposal.

The Prosecution of Bosnia and Herzegovina charges the Markovics, former members of the Kotor-Varos Brigade of the Republika Srpska Army, VRS, with having come to Orahova village in the early evening on June 28, 1992 and having taken a female, who was 14-years-old at the time, away from the house.

“After that they alternately raped and sexually abused the victim several times, while threatening her with a knife and fire arms. This lasted about three hours,” the indictment alleges.
