No Bad Words about Ibro Macic

Saban Alic told the Court that he was a guard in “Musala” school building in 1993 and that he spoke to detainees, but they never told him anything about Ibro Macic.
He said that he and Macic were on the same shift once or twice and that he did not see that the indictee mistreated detainees. During the cross-examination the State Prosecution presented Alic with his statement given during the investigation, in which he said that he and Macic had never been on the same shift. The witness responded by saying that a mistake had obviously been made.
The Prosecution of BiH charges Ibro Macic, former member of the Army of BiH, with having participated in the torture and sexual abuse of detainees in “Musala” school building in Konjic from April to October 1993.
Testifying in defence of Macic, second witness Pasan Sirbegovic said that he distributed food in “Musala” in 1993.
“The same meals were given to them and us. Their man gave the food to them,” Sirbegovic said.
According to Sirbegovic’s testimony, detainees did not complain about being mistreated.
Third Defence witness Semsudin Zeco said that he was in tasked with guarding “Musala”.
“As far as my shifts are concerned, nobody caused any trouble. (…) Ibro Macic was never on the same shift with me,” the witness said.
Zeco said that he had not heard that Ibro Macic caused any trouble.
Fourth Defence witness Ibrahim Halebic was a guard in Musala in 1993 as well. He said that he did not notice or ever heard that Ibro Macic did anything bad to detainees.
The trial is due to continue on June 13.
