Verdict of Release against Radojkovic Confirmed

The Supreme Court of Republika Srpska, RS, pronounces a second instance verdict, acquitting Dejan Radojkovic of the charges for crimes in Srebrenica in 1995.

The verdict against Radojkovic became a second instance one, because the Bijeljina District Prosecution did not file an appeal against the first instance verdict, under which he was acquitted of charges.

Radojkovic, former Commander of the Third Squad of the Jahorina Training Centre with the Special Brigade of RS police, was acquitted of charges for having opened a burst of fire on a few Bosniak men, who were trying to flee from Srebrenica in 1995, while guarding the trunk road between Bratunac and Konjevic Polje along with other members of that Squad.

One person was wounded on that occasion. He was left lying in a ditch on the side of the road during the night without being offered medical assistance. Radojkovic was charged with having returned to that place the following morning and killed the wounded by shooting him from a rifle.
