“The degeneration caused by the Parkinson’s disease is progressing. The patient needs to be taken care of by another person,” says court expert Enra Mehmedika-Suljic.She further said that “a cognitive deficiency” was also noticeable, but he did not suffer from hallucinations and negative thoughts. Also, she said that secondary muscle deterioration had occurred. Mehmedika-Suljic said that Kondic had not undergone control examinations, adding that his physician was in Belgrade. The court expert was not able to answer the Prosecution’s question on how the patient was receiving drug prescriptions. The Prosecution of BiH considers that the conditions for giving up the proceedings against him have not been met.“We have the right to suspect. Is he undergoing medical treatment at all? How does he get drug prescriptions? (…) We propose to the Court to set a date for the main trial,” said Prosecutor Dzemila Begovic. The Defence objected to the proposal, claiming that it was not technically possible to bring the indictee to the courtroom. The Prosecution of BiH charges Kondic with having participated in organising a group of people and abetting them to commit genocide, as well as crimes against humanity and war crimes in Kljuc municipality during the course of 1992.Kondic was originally charged for those crimes along with Marko Adamovic and Bosko Lukic, but the proceeding against him was separated from the case against the two other indictees due to his illness in September 2010.A new check of Kondic’s health condition is due to be undertaken in between six and nine months.
