Five Arrested Persons Ordered into Custody

The Cantonal Court in Novi Travnik orders one-month custody for seven persons, who are suspected of crimes against prisoners of war in the Kiseljak area.

The custody measure was ordered against five former members of the Croatian Defence Council, HVO, who were arrested on Monday, February 3, as well as two suspects, who are still searched for.

Custody was ordered against suspects M.S, D.M, B.D, LJ.D. and R.S.

Unofficial data suggests that suspects V.K. and R.R, who were not found at their places of residence, are outside of Bosnia and Herzegovina at present.

Bosnian Army Ex-Soldiers Jailed for Beating Prisoners

Former Bosnian Army soldiers Muhko and Safet Velagic were found guilty of committing war crimes against prisoners of war in the Bugojno area in July 1993. The Cantonal Court in Novi Travnik sentenced Muhko Velagic was sentenced to seven years in prison and Safet Velagic to six years for war crimes against prisoners of war.
