Trial for Kljuc Crimes Postponed

The continuation of the trial of six indictees, who are charged with war crimes in Kljuc, before the Cantonal Court in Bihac has been postponed due to the poor health of indictee Milan Lukic.

The Defence of Milan Lukic requested medical examination of its client due to his bad health with the aim of determining whether he is capable of following the trial. Also, the Defence of the indictee requested the termination of custody measures and separation of his case from the case against the other indictees.

Lukic is charged, along with Nenad and Predrag Bajic, Mladenko Vrtunic, Sinisa Babic and Slobodan Dragic, with having committed murders, rape and inhumane treatment of people in Kljuc municipality.

According to the Bihac Prosecution’s charges, in late 1992 and at the beginning of 1993 the indictees, former members of the Republika Srpska Army, VRS, participated in murders, rape and inhumane treatment in Humici, Vojici and Pudin Han villages, Kljuc municipality. One of the crimes covered by the Bihac Prosecution’s indictment is charged upon Zeljko Budimir as well, but he is not available to the prosecution bodies in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The trial is due to continue on January 21.
