Mirko Eric, former member of the Celopek Company, told the Court that he was in Jelacic in July 1995, when he heard about the military operations around Srebrenica. He said that he went home from Jelacic and that he was then sent to another division line.

‘I arrived on Djajica Hill and saw Zvornik Brigade Commander Pandurevic negotiating with Semso from the Muslim side. They made an agreement and the shooting stopped. I could proceed to the division line after that,” the witness said.

When asked by Prosecutor Predrag Tomic if, while he was on the frontline, he heard that something was happening in Petkovci, the witness said that he heard that “some Muslims were detained in the school building”.

“I heard that some were taken to the dam,” he said, adding that he also heard that they were killed.

Eric testified at the trial of Ostoja Stanisic and Marko Milosevic, who are charged with having participated in the crimes on the Petkovci dam, near Djulici village, Zvornik municipality, where about 1,000 captives from Srebrenica were shot.

The indictment alleges that Stanisic was Commander of the Sixth Battalion of Zvornik Brigade with the Republika Srpska Army, VRS, whose Command was situated in Petkovci, while Milosevic was his Deputy.

Responding to Defence’s question on whether indictee Stanisic had anything to do with the captives from the school building and the dam, witness Eric said that he had not heard anything like that.

The witness said that he found out that some captives from that area were exchanged.

Second witness Nedeljko Nikolic said that he lived in Djulici in 1995 and that he spent 15 days on the dam. When asked by Prosecutor Tomic if he was on the dam during the fall of Srebrenica, he said that he could not remember the dates.

The witness said that he was inside a house, when he saw trucks going towards Petkovci.

He said that he did not hear about captives being brought to the dam in Petkovci and killed. After that the Prosecutor read a part of a statement in which the witness mentioned captives.

The trial is due to continue on January 15 next year.
