Redzep Beganovic Sentenced to Five Years

The Cantonal Court in Bihac pronounces Redzep Beganovic guilty of war crimes committed in Sturlic village, Cazin municipality and sentences him to five years in prison.

Under the verdict, Beganovic was pronounced guilty of inhumane treatment and an attempt to rape a minor in December 1993.
 
Beganovic, who was allegedly accompanied by Hazim Keranovic, who has sincd died, and Amir Coralic, who is not available to prosecution bodies of Bosnia and Herzegovina, was charged with having physically abused Ferid Covic, because his son Enes was a member of the Fifth Corps of the Army of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
 
The indictment alleges that Beganovic, Keranovic and Coralic, forcedly took two minors out of their house and drove them to Trzac village. It further alleges that the indictee tried to rape of them, but Keranovic prevented him from doing it.
 
The Cantonal Prosecution in Bihac is conducting an investigation against Coralic.
 
The parties have the right to appeal the verdict.
