Popic, former Commander of the Police Station with the Public Safety Station in Gacko, is charged with having participated in the persecution of the Bosniak civilian population in Gacko municipality from April to the end of 1992.

“As a participant in the joint criminal enterprise, he planned, ordered, committed, fostered and assisted in the persecution of the Bosniak population, which was based on discriminatory intentions,” the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina says in its announcement.

Besides that, he is charged with having detained, killed, tortured, deported and forcibly resettled the local population.

Popic lives in Serbia. That country does not extradite its citizens to other countries.
