The conference was partially closed to public during a discussion about witnesses, who have requested protection measures.

Dragan Gotovac, Defence attorney of the indictee, said that the witnesses also requested to be invited to appear before the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina in a special way.

The Trial Chamber decided that it would invite the witnesses to come to the Court for a conversation and then decide about the requested protection measures.

The Prosecution of Bosnia and Herzegovina began presenting evidence against Prosic, who is held in custody, in late May this year and completed it in November.

Prosic, former member of the Sixth Sana Brigade of the Republika Srpska Army, VRS, is charged with having participated in a widespread and systematic attack on villages in the Sanski Most area, as well as the persecution, detention, setting houses on fire and murder of non-Serb civilians.

Among other things, he is charged with having come to Hilmo Hegic’s house, where eight civilians, including a pregnant woman, were, killed the civilians and set the house on fire on May 27, 1992.

The trial is due to continue on December 7.
