The State Prosecution introduced 63 pieces of material evidence. The Defence had no objection to those documents.Considering the fact that the Defence had no objection to the Prosecution’s evidence, the Prosecution did not present the individual pieces of evidence in the courtroom, but a list of evidence only. The Prosecution of Bosnia and Herzegovina charges Prosic, former member of the Sixth Sana Brigade of the Republika Srpska Army, VRS, with having participated in a widespread and systematic attack on villages in the Sanski Most area.He is charged with the persecution, murder, setting houses on fire and detention of non-Serb civilians in detention facilities in Sanski Most. The Defence of the indictee objected to the relevance of the verdict against Radoslav Brdjanin, which the Prosecution wanted to include as material evidence, but the Trial Chamber decided that it would consider the verdict a document.“We object to the relevance of the verdict against Radoslav Brdjanin,” said Svetozar Davidovic, Defence attorney of indictee Prosic. Then International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia, ICTY sentenced Brdjanin, former Serb political leader in the northwest of Bosnia and Herzegovina, to 30 years in prison. The verdict says, among other things, that Brdjanin is responsible for the persecution, torture, deportation, intentional destruction of towns, neighbourhoods and villages in Banja Luka, Bosanski Petrovac, Kljuc, Prijedor, Sanski Most and other municipalities.Following the presentation of Prosecution’s evidence, the Defence said that it wanted to examine 11 witnesses and present two pieces of material evidence. The Prosecution objected to the examination of one witness, who has already testified at this trial.“We object to the examination of this witness. She was here. She was cross-examined,” said State Prosecutor Dzemila Begovic. The Court will render a decision concerning the examination of Defence witnesses at a status conference scheduled for November 16.
