Prosecutor Ibro Bulic said that he was in constant contact with the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia, ICTY and that he expected an agreement about the arrival of this witness to be reached within the next seven days.
According to the latest information we have, the ICTY has issued an order, requesting its Witness Support Section to contact this witness. They will inform us about it, Bulic said.
Kerim Celik, Defence attorney of the indictee, said that he would wait for a response from ICTY, because it was in the interest of the Defence to examine witness PW-100.
The Prosecution of Bosnia and Herzegovina charges Kuvelja, former member of the Jahorina Training Centre with the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Republika Srpska, MUP of RS, with having participated in the shooting of more than 1,000 men from Srebrenica in Kravica Agricultural Co-operative, near Bratunac in July 1995.
Trial Chamber Chairwoman Jasmina Kosovic said that, in case no new pieces of information about the examination of witness PW-100 were obtained by the next hearing, the parties would proceed with the presentation of their closing statements.
The Prosecution of Bosnia and Herzegovina previously presented, as evidence, a transcript of the protected witness testimony before the Hague Tribunal, but the Defence said that it wanted to cross-examine the witness.
The last hearing in this case was held on September 18, when it was said that the parties would present their closing statements today in case witness PW-100 failed to appear.
The trial is due to continue on November 13.
