The man was arrested in Visegrad, for suspicion that he committed crimes against humanity in June 1992, by taking part in crimes against the non-Serb population in Visegrad and Sokolac.

The suspect will be delivered to the State Prosecution which will examine him and decide whether to ask the court to order him into custody.
A spokesperson for the Prosecution confirmed the man was arrested as per their request, but they said more information will be available tomorrow – on Thursday, June 21.

According to verdicts of the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia, Serb military attacks claimed many Bosnian Muslim civilian victims in Sokolac in 1992. Serb forces intimidated, arrested and detained non-Serbs in camps throughout the municipality. The conditions in the detention centres were harsh and detainees were regularly beaten.

Serb leaders, according to the ICTY findings, conducted one of the most notorious campaigns of the conflict to rid Visegrad of its Muslim population. Between May and June 1992 hundreds of Bosnian Muslim men, women and children from the municipality were executed at various bridges over the Drina.
