Appearing before the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Macic pleaded not guilty to the four remaining charges related to crimes in Konjic.

“Honourable Court, I admit having killed a man as per an order given by my superior officers. I could not refuse to carry out the order, because they would have killed me. I plead not guilty to all the other counts contained in the indictment,” Macic said.

Under the first count, Macic is charged with having taken a civilian out of a house in Bradina village, Konjic municipality in May 1992 and took him, together with other Serb prisoners, to a trunk road, where he fired two bursts of bullets to his back, causing the death of the captured civilian.

Under the remaining counts to which he pleaded not guilty, Macic is charged with having caused severe bodily injuries and suffering to Serb civilians while capturing them in Bradina village. He is also charged with having killed an old man, who could hardly move, while staying in Sitnik village, Konjic municipality, with other members of reserve police forces with the Konjic Public Safety Station in June 1992.

Macic is charged with having physically abused a Serb person and confiscated a car in Varda village, Konjic municipality on September 18, 1992.

Macic has been held in custody since May this year.

According to the existing legal regulations, his trial is due to begin within the next 30 days.
