The HJPC (VSTV) Presidencys meeting with Valentin Inzko focused on the activities of the HJPC and current situation in the countrys judiciary.
Milorad Novakovic, the HJCP President and Danijela Mikic and Enisa Androvic, vice-presidents of HJCP attended the meeting with Inzko. The aim of these meetings as stated at the conference was the maintenance of impartiality, competency and the efficiency of the countrys judiciary.
The High Representative said that process of the application of the State strategy in processing cases of war crimes are continuing in the correct manner and that the process is important for the reconciliation and truth in the country.
A certain number of the war crime cases are processed in front of the entity courts in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Also, it has continued with creating conditions for processing war crimes on the lower level. It was rather difficult to provide the materials and technical conditions for entity courts and prosecutions, but with the help of international community, we did it, stated Novkovic.
Novkovic added how, up to now, the biggest progress in securing the capacities for entity institutions that are dealing with the cases of war crimes has been achieved in Banja Luka and Sarajevo.
The presence of international judges and prosecutors in local jurisprudence has been reduced, Inzko stated and they are now present only in the cases of war crimes.
During the meeting of HJCP Presidency with the High Representative, there were talks about the proposal for downsizing the budget for institutions in Bosnia and Herzegovina which Inzko consider to be a bad signal.
The HJCP is a story of success because jurisprudence representative from other countries comes to see how this Council is working. The International community express their support to HJCP as this was a case up to now and the international community have faith in the impartiality and fairness of HJCP, stated Inzko. S.U.
