The Defence of Milan Peric, Spasoje Doder, Predrag Terzic and Aleksandar Cerovina, former members of the Public Safety Station in Kalinovik, announced that they would examine a court expert in police issues too.

The State Prosecution’s indictment alleges that the four former members of the Public Safety Station in Kalinovik are charged with having participated, in the summer of 1992, in the unlawful arrest of civilians from Jelasac and Vihovici villages, Kalinovik municipality. They allegedly took the civilians to the “Miladin Radojevic” school building and “Barutni magacin” (“Gunpowder Depot”) detention camp, where most of the detainees were killed.

The Defence attorneys explained that most of the witnesses, whom they would invite to testify, would try to provide the indictees with an alibi and confirm that they were not present in the Jelasac and Vihovici villages and speak about the happenings that took place in the “Miladin Radojevic” school building.

“Terzic’s Defence plans on examining two protected witnesses too. The remaining proposed witnesses will speak about the happenings that took place in the ‘Miladin Radojevic’ school building and provide an alibi for the indictee,” said Aldin Lejlic, Defence attorney for indictee Terzic.

The Defence attorneys said that, according to their estimates, they would need ten working days for the examination of the proposed witnesses. The status conference was held after the Prosecution of Bosnia and Herzegovina had completed the presentation of evidence at this trial.

The trial is due to continue on August 23 this year.
