State Prosecutor Dubravko Campara introduced a number of documents pertaining to the examination of prisoners of war and the establishment of collection centers.

The prosecutor argued that the documents indicate that indictees Mehura Selimovic and Adil Ruznic “processed” or questioned detainees.

“I present statements given by prisoners of war who were examined by Selimovic and Ruznic. A few of these statements mention the first indictee and his method of examination.

“Also, I present lists of detainees in the Luke prison and lists of detainees for the establishment of the Rad collection center in Cazin,” Campara said, adding that Selimovic examined civilians in detention centers as well. He then introduced a few witness statements to show this.

In addition to Selimovic and Ruznic, Emir Mustafic is charged with crimes committed in Bosnian Krajina.

The three former members of the ABiH are charged with having aided and abetted the detention of Serb soldiers and civilians in detention centers in Bihac, Cazin and Bosanski Petrovac in the period from 1994 to 1996.

According to the charges, Selimovic was Counter-intelligence Officer, Operational Officer and Deputy Chief of the Military Security Services Section with the Fifth Corps of the ABiH, Ruznic was Assistant Commander for Security and Operational Officer with the same Section and Mustafic was a member of the Military Police with the Fifth Corps of the ABiH.

The Defence attorneys objected to the relevance, authenticity and legality of several documents, announcing they would use some of the material introduced by the Prosecution as Defence evidence.

The Prosecution of Bosnia and Herzegovina started presenting material evidence on December 22, 2010. It has presented 213 documents so far. The Prosecutor announced he would put forward “five or six” more.

The trial is due to continue on February 16, 2011, when the Prosecution will continue presenting material evidence. At the same hearing a recording of statements given by three witnesses who were examined in Banja Luka will be shown.
