On January 12 the War Crimes Chamber of the Sate Court confirmed an indictment against Damir Ivankovic, Zoran Babic, Gordan Djuric, Milorad Radakovic, MiloradSkrbic, Ljubisa Cetic, Dusan Jankovic and Zeljko Stojnic, charging them with a crime against humanity.
The indictment alleges that the eight men participated in a crime committed at Koricanske stijene, on Mount Vlasic, on August 21, 1992, when 200 male civilians were shot. Twelve of them survived the massacre. Only four bodies have been identified to date.
The indictees are former members of the Public Safety Station in Prijedor and Emergency Interventions Police Squad, while indictee Dusan Jankovic was a superior officer, as commander of the Police Station.
The indictees participated in organizing and escorting a convoy consisting of about1,200 Croat and Bosniak civilians traveling from Prijedor to Travnik, where they were allegedly to be exchanged. On Mount Vlasic some men were singled out. Later they were shot at Koricanske stijene.
They were first ordered to stand by the road and turn towards an abyss.
“After that they were killed by shooting from automatic weapons”.
“After the bodies of the dead had fallen into the abyss they were shot again.Grenades were then thrown into the abyss,” the indictment reads.
The State Prosecution called on the Court to extend custody for six indictees and order prohibiting measures against the two remaining ones.
