Before the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Momir Savic denied the allegations in the indictment concerning his participation in the crimes committed in Visegrad in 1992, when he was commander of Visegrad Brigade Third Squad with the Republika Srpska Army.

“Honourable Court, I plead not guilty to all counts in the indictment,” Savic said.

The State Prosecution charges Savic, by the indictment containing eight counts, with having participated in the shooting of a large number of Bosniaks from Visegrad in Drinsko and Dusce settlements. He is also charged with the rape of one person. The indictment alleges that, from June to September, he “frequently visited her house”, abused and threatened her.

Savic was arrested in December last year. The Court confirmed the indictment against him on March 11 this year.

Up to now, the State Court has processed the following persons for crimes committed in Visegrad: Boban Simsic (sentenced by a second instance verdict to 14 years), Nenad Tanaskovic (sentenced to 12 years by a first instance verdict) and Zeljko Lelek, former policeman from Visegrad whose trial is underway.
