Zaim Lalicic’s defense asked the appeals chamber of the Bosnian state court to repeal the verdict against him or hand down an acquittal. The state prosecution objected to this proposal. Lalicic was sentenced to nine years in prison for crimes committed in the Hrasnica neighbourhood of Sarajevo.

The Bosnian state court will hand down a verdict in the Slavko Savic trial on June 29. At todays hearing of the trial, the state prosecution and the defense presented their closing statements.

The defense of Nedzad Hodzic proposed that medical findings on the defendants health be included in the case file. The state prosecution objected to this proposal, on the grounds that the same evidence had already been included in the case file.

The Bosnian state prosecution has called for a verdict of conviction in the Zaim Lalicic case. The defense has called for an acquittal. The verdict is scheduled for May 21.

A state prosecution witness testifying at the Slavko Savic trial said he didnt know if a protected witness known as A had been raped.

At the retrial of Miodrag Markovic, the defense requested a reduced sentence, while the prosecution said Markovics initial sentence should have been longer. Markovic, a former Bosnian Serb Army soldier, was found guilty of the rape of a minor in the municipality of Doboj.

A protected defense witness testifying at the Zaim Lalicic trial said she hadnt heard that the injured party in the case had been raped by the defendant.

Testifying at the Slavko Savic trial, a protected defense witness known as D said the injured party in the case had a romantic relationship with Savic.

Testifying at the Zaim Lalicic trial, defense witness Sead Takac said he knew the injured party known as S.M., but had never heard that she had been raped.

The Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina decided to separate the Nedzad Hodzic and Dzevad Salcin cases, until Hodzics ability to follow the trial is established.
