The defence lawyer for former Bosnian Serb soldier Krsto Dostic called for him to be acquitted of rape in the Foca area in 1992, while the court set the verdict for October 6. Presenting his closing statement on Monday, defence lawyer Milenko Vojo Radovic said the prosecution had not proved Dostic’s guilt beyond reasonable doubt.

Former Bosnian Serb Army soldier Krsto Dostic denied raping a pregnant woman in Foca in 1992 and said he was ready to take a lie-detector test.

The first state prosecution witness testified at the trial of Krsto Dostic, charged with wartime rape in the Foca area. The witness said he heard that the victim in the case had been raped and that women in the area singled out the victim’s neighbours, Krsto and Bozo Dostic, as perpetrators.

The state prosecution plans to examine five witnesses at the trial of Krsto Dostic, who’s been charged with committing multiple rapes in Foca in 1992.

The state prosecution has filed an indictment against Krsto Dostic, a former member of the Bosnian Serb Army, on suspicion of having raped a woman several times in the Foca area in 1992.

The State Investigation and Protection Agency (SIPA) arrested Krsto Dostic on suspicion of participating in war crimes committed in Foca.
