As the trial for crimes in Vares continues, a State Prosecution witness says that his sister told him, two years ago, that indictees Muhidin Basic and Mirsad Sijak raped her in Vares in 1994 and that she did not tell him before because she feared his reaction.

As the trial of Muhidin Basic and Mirsad Sijak, who are charged with war crimes in Vares in 1994, continues, expert witnesses say that witness A did not speak about having been raped for a long period of time because she was ashamed.

Testifying before the State Court at the trial for crimes in Vares, a State Prosecution witness says that a policeman, who was detained with him in the “Autotrans” and “Sumarstvo” buildings in Vares, was visited several times by his sister, who testified as a protected witness at this trial.

Reading of the indictment by the Prosecution of Bosnia and Herzegovina starts the trial of Muhidin Basic and Mirsad Sijak, charged with the war crime committed in Vares in 1994. Basic and Sijak are charged with the rape of a Bosnian Croat woman at the Army of Bosnia and Herzegovina prison located in the basement of the “Sumarstvo” building in Vares, on January 25, 1994.

The trial of Muhidin Basic and Mirsad Sijak, charged with rape in Vares in January 1994, will begin in February 20 this year, when the indictment will be read and the opening arguments presented.
