The Bosnian state court has confirmed an indictment against Ahmet Sejdic, charging him with crimes committed against the civilian population and prisoners of war in the municipalities of Rudo, Visegrad and Gorazde.
The trial of Milan Komad, charged with crimes in the Visegrad area, will begin on February 18. During the first hearing the indictment will be read, introductory statements will be presented and the first witness for the district prosecution of Eastern Sarajevo will be examined.
Testifying at the trial of four former members of the Bosnian Army, a witness for the district prosecution of Eastern Sarajevo said he heard rumours that bodies had been found in Ladjeva Stijena in 1992. He said it was assumed that the bodies belonged to those of Serb captives, as the area around them had been mined.
The Bosnian state court has confirmed an indictment against Ibro Merkez, Predrag Bogunic and Esef Huric, charging them with war crimes against Serb civilians in the Gorazde area.
The appeals chamber of the Bosnian state court increased the verdict in the Dragan Sekaric case from 14 to 17 years in prison. Sekaric was found guilty of committing crimes against humanity, including murder and rape, in Visegrad in 1992.
The state prosecution has filed an indictment against Asim Muratovic and Cazim Ajanovic, charging them with crimes against prisoners of war in the Gorazde area.
Former commander Ahmet Sejdic was charged with crimes against Serb civilians and prisoners of war, including illegal detention and torture, in the municipalities of Rudo, Visegrad and Gorazde.
The prosecution charged three former policemen with involvement in the illegal detention and inhumane treatment of over 100 Serb civilians in Gorazde during wartime, some of whom died.
A district prosecution witness testifying at the trial of four former members of the Bosnian Army said he heard that beaten captives from Trovrh had been brought to the Gorazde police station.
