Military expert Reynaud Theunens testified at Stanisic and Simatovic’s trial at the Mechanism for International Criminal Tribunals in The Hague on Wednesday that Serbian State Security Service (SDB) units were involved in crimes during the Croatian war in 1991.
Theunens quoted field reports by Yugoslav People’s Army intelligence bodies about crimes committed by members of the Serbian Volunteer Guard led by Zeljko Raznatovic, alias Arkan, and by other Serbian volunteer and paramilitary units, which according to the witness’s findings, were under the control of defendants Stanisic and Simatovic.
