Bosnian State Investigation and Protection Agency police officers arrested two people in the towns of Visegrad and Novo Gorazde on Tuesday on suspicion of committing crimes against civilians in the village of Lozje in the Gorazde area during wartime in 1992.

“The suspects are charged, in their capacity as commanders of Bosnian Serb Army units in that area, with having commanded and participated in an attack on the said village, where around 30 victims, mostly civilians, including women, children and elderly people, were killed,” the state prosecution said in a statement.

The prosecution said that the two suspects are under investigation for war crimes against civilians and for allegedly organising a group of people and inciting them to commit genocide, crimes against humanity and war crimes.

The suspects will be handed over to a prosecutor for questioning.
