The suspects are under investigation for the unlawful arrest and murder of some 120 Bosniak men and boys from the village of Miska Glava in the summer of 1992.

According to a press statement from the Bosnian state prosecutor’s office, which ordered the arrests, those detained are Slobodan Taranjac, Miodrag Glusac, Ranko Babic, Marinko Prastalo, Ranko Dosenovic, Zdravko Panic, Trivo Vukic and Milan Vukic.

It is alleged that in late July 1992, as members of the Bosnian Serb crisis staff (which arranged for Bosniaks to leave Serb-dominated municipalities), the Bosnian Serb Army, and the police, the suspects took part in the unlawful detention of about 120 men in the Miska Glava area, of whom 15 were minors.

The victims were detained in the House of Culture and at a nearby stadium, where they were tortured and abused over three days, according to the prosecutor.

During their imprisonment, between 10 and 15 of the men were killed. The remaining captives were taken to the nearby town of Ljubija, where they were shot.

The testimony of a few who survived was crucial in shedding light on this crime, according to the prosecutor’s office.

After the war, the victims were exhumed from mass graves at sites known as Redak I and Redak II, and ten bodies were found at the Hozic Kamen site, which was discovered in 2016.
