Bosnian Serb Defendant Charged with Plotting Lawyer’s Murder

The prosecution charged Krsmanovic on Friday with obstructing justice the in 2015 by planning to kill lawyer Muhidin Kapo in an attempt to preventing him from testifying against him at his war crime trial.
According to the prosecution, Krsmanovic gave an unnamed person information about Kapo’s life, including the places where was staying, and made concrete proposals about how the murder could be carried out.
“During the conversation, he offered illicit gain in the form of money or an automobile in turn for execution of the agreement, or more precisely the murder of the attorney, as well as the concealment of the traces of the aforementioned crime prior to the main trial due date,” the prosecution said in a statement.
Krsmanovic went on trial in October last year at the district court in Eastern Sarajevo, accused of having beaten a Bosniak civilian from the Rogatica area, in collaboration with another member of the Bosnian Serb Army, in the village of Pediste in July 1992.
The indictment alleges that, while driving the civilian towards the police station in Sokolac, they took him out of the car with the intention of killing him, but stopped after beating him up.
The indictment has been filed to the state court for confirmation.
