Defendants Dusan Milunic, Radomir Stojnic, Radovan Cetic, Dusko Zoric, Zoran Stojnic, Zeljko Grbic, Ilija Zoric, Zoran Milunic, Bosko Grujicic, Ljubisa Cetic, Rade and Uros Grujcic, Zdravko Antonic and Rajko Gnjatovic have been charged with committing acts of murders, torture, and sexual violence against the local residents of the village of Zecovi. They have also been charged with the destruction and confiscation of their property.

According to the charges, Milunic was the commander of the Rasavacka Company with the 6th Battalion of the 43rd Brigade of the Bosnian Serb Army, Radomir Stojnic was the commander of the reserve police station in Rasavci, while Radovan Cetic was the president of the Serbian Democratic Party and crisis committee for the village of Rasavci. The other defendants were members of the Rasavacka Company, police and other formations.

Testifying at today’s hearing behind a screen, a protected witness known as Z-4 said her son went to Zecovi because his girlfriend lived there. Z-4 said he went missing without a trace from that moment onwards.

“We heard that Rade Grujcic took my son away, that they loaded him and Suljo Sijecic onto a personnel carrier…Then they moved through the village chasing people,” Z-4 said.

She said she heard that Grujcic was accompanied by Goja Radulovic.

“I would like to find out who killed him,” Z-4 said. She said she eventually found her son’s remains in the Tomasica mass grave.

She said she met the wife of defendant Uros Grujcic in town once and gave her food and cigarettes to pass on to her son. She said she heard Grujcic’s wife say, “He will smoke them.”

While searching for her son, Z-4 said she obtained information that he was killed in front of the house. She said she visited the family home twice. She said during her first visit to the house she saw the bodies of five civilians who were shot in the back. She said the bodies belonged to Enver Music, Mehemed Music, Huso Music, Munib Hopovac and another man.

Z-4 said when she returned two or three days later the bodies were no longer there. She said her husband found them in a well near the house.

“We heard the sound of a tractor. Rade Grujcic, who was armed, and his father Dusan, who was also armed, were driving it. When they saw us, they just bent their heads down and passed by,” Z-4 said.

She said she also saw houses being pillaged on her way to Zecovi. Z-4 said her brother and three uncles were killed and their property was destroyed during that time.

The defense asked Z-4 why she failed to mention Rade Grujcic in her previous statement. She said she may not have remembered to mention his name, because her husband died and she had also received information about the location of her son’s remains at the time.

The trial will continue on February 26.
