Indictment for Doboj and Teslic Crimes Confirmed

Milan Ninkovic, Borislav Paravac, Andrija Bjelosevic and Milan Savic have been charged with participating in a widespread and systematic attack against the Croat and Bosniak population in the municipalities of Doboj and Teslic from May 1992 to the end of 1993.

According to the charges, Paravac was the president of the crisis committee of the municipality of Doboj, while Ninkovic was a member of the crisis committee. Bjelosevic was the chief of the safety services center in Doboj and Savic was his deputy.

“They persecuted the Bosniak and Croat civilian population by committing acts of murder and detention, through the grave deprivation of physical liberty and other inhumane acts,” a state court announcement reads.

The state prosecution previously stated that several hundred civilians were killed as a result of their persecution and several thousand more were detained in detention camps, where they were abused. The defendants have also been charged with the destruction of a high number of religious and cultural buildings in the Doboj and Teslic area.

Paravac was a member of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina from 2003 to 2006.
