The state prosecution has charged Komad, a former member of the Bosnian Serb Army, with the murder of a Bosniak civilian in Kosovo Polje in the municipality of Visegrad during the Bosnian war.
Komad allegedly went to Komad after it had been abandoned by most of its Bosniak residents, and threatened a person who was hiding in his yard.
“The defendant ran onto his property and shouted, ‘Stop!’ Since he feared for his life, the person tried to run away. After that the defendant fired a burst of gunfire from his automatic weapon and killed him,” reads a state prosecution announcement issued on July 16, 2015.
Komad is defending himself while at liberty. His place of residence is Visegrad.
