According to the indictment, Djojic and several other Croatian Defense Council members raped and sexually abused a woman in an extremely humiliating manner. Djojic and the other perpetrators allegedly told the injured party that if she resisted her six-month old son would be killed.
Kucukalic was expected to present his findings on Djojic’s ability to follow the court proceedings at today’s hearing.
Presiding judge Darko Samardzic said prior to the hearing he was informed that Kucukalic is not in Sarajevo.
“Kucukalic is officially prevented from coming and he is not in Sarajevo,” Samardzic said.
The last hearing in the Djojic trial was held on March 19, when neuropsychiatrist Muhamed Ahmic testified for the defense. Ahmic had said that Djojic is unable to participate in the criminal proceedings.
The trial chamber accepted a request by the state prosecution to conduct a team examination of Djojic. Their report has yet to be presented.
The next hearing is scheduled for July 10.
