Trial of the Markovics Begins Next Week

The trial of Bosiljko and Ostoja Markovic, who are charged with crimes against the civilian population in Kotor-Varos, is due to begin next week with reading of the indictment and presentation of State Prosecution’s introductory statement.

The trial of Bosiljko and Ostoja Markovic, who are charged with crimes against the civilian population in Kotor-Varos, is due to begin next week with reading of the indictment and presentation of State Prosecution’s introductory statement.

The trial of Bosiljko and Ostoja Markovic, former members of the Republika Srpska Army, VRS, who are charged with having raped a minor girl, is due to begin on Tuesday, August 26.

On that same day the Defence of Predrag Milisavljevic, Milos Pantelic and Ljubomir Tasic are due to begin presenting their closing statements at the trial for crimes in Visegrad, while the Defence of Iulian-Nicolae Vintila, who is charged, along with Ramiz Avdovic, with crimes in Sarajevo, is due to begin presenting evidence.

On Monday, August 25 former VRS member Petar Kovacevic is due to enter his plea to the allegations that he committed crimes in Visegrad, while, on Friday, August 29 Blagoje Vlacic is due to enter his plea to the charges that he committed crimes in Sekovici.

On Monday the State Prosecution is due to continue presenting evidence at the trials of Goran Saric for genocide in Srebrenica, while the Defence teams will continue presenting evidence at the trial for murders in Trusina, which are charged upon Mensur Memic, Dzevad Salcin, Senad Hakalovic, Nedzad Hodzic and Zulfikar Alispago.

The trial of Josip Tolic for crimes in Odzak and Bosanski Brod is due to be continued on Monday and Friday next week.

On Tuesday the trial is due to continue in the case against Ivan Zelenika, Srecko Herceg, Edib Buljubasic, Ivan Medic and Marina Grubisic-Fejzic for crimes committed in Dretelj, while Ostoja Stanisic and Marko Milosevic, who are charged with genocide in Srebrenica, as well as Marinko and Zoran Bjelica and Novica Tripkovic, who are indicted for crimes in the Kalinovik area, will appear before judges one day later.

Goran Popovic, who is charged with crimes in Uzamnica detention camp, is due to appear in court on Wednesday, August 27, while new Prosecution witnesses will appear at the trials of Nedzad Hodzic and Dzevad Salcin, who are charged with crimes on Igman, Indira Kameric for crimes in Bosanski Brod, as well as Mustafa Djelilovic, Fadil Covic, Mirsad Sabic, Nezir Kazic, Becir Hujic, Halid Covic, Serif Mesanovic and Nermin Kalember, who are charged with crimes in Hadzici, on Thursday.

The continuation of the trial of Nihad Bojadzic for crimes in Jablanica is scheduled for Thursday as well. On the following day the trial is due to continue in the case against Safet Mujcinovic, Selman Busnov, Nusret Muhic, Zijad Hamzic, Ramiz Halilovic, Nedzad Hodzic, Hariz Habibovic, Osman Gogic and Kahro Vejzovic, who are charged with crimes in Kladanj.

The last defence witness at the trial of Vehid Subotic, who is charged with crimes in Zenica, is due to testify on Friday, August 29.

The retrial of Mehura Selimovic, Adil Ruznic and Emir Mustafic for crimes in Bosanska Krajina continues next week as well.
