Trial for Kotor-Varos Crimes Begins Next Week

They are charged with having participated in expelling Bosniaks and Croats from their houses in the Kotor-Varos area in the period from May to the end of 1992. The beginning of the trial is scheduled for Monday, May 26.
On Tuesday, May 27 the Appellate Chamber of the Court of BiH is due to hold a session in order to review appeals against a first instance verdict, under which Goran Saric was sentenced to 14 years in prison for crimes in the Sarajevo area.
On Monday the Prosecution of Bosnia and Herzegovina is due to cross-examine indictee Nihad Bojadzic, who is charged, along with Mensur Memic, Dzevad Salcin, Nedzad Hodzic and Senad Hakalovic, with crimes in Trusina, near Konjic.
Bosiljko and Ostoja Markovic, whom the State Prosecution charges with the rape of a minor person, are due to appear before the State Court on that same day.
On Tuesday a new witness is due to testify in defence of Edib Buljubasic at the trial for crimes committed against Serb detainees in Dretelj, near Capljina. Those crimes are charged upon Buljubasic, Ivan Zelenika, Srecko Herceg, Ivan Medic and Marina Grubisic-Fejzic.
The trials of Oliver Krsmanovic for crimes in Visegrad, Predrag Milisavljevic, Milos Pantelic and Ljubomir Tasic, who are charged with crimes in Visegrad, as well as Ramiz Avdovic and Iulian-Nicolae Vintila, who are indicted for crimes in the “Vikotr Bubanj” military barracks in Sarajevo, are due to continue on Tuesday.
Two trials for genocide in Srebrenica are due to continue in the week ahead. The trial of Aleksandar Cvetkovic continues on Tuesday, while the continuation of the trial of Goran Saric is scheduled for Monday.
On Wednesday, May 28 three new Prosecution witnesses are due to be examined at the trial of Vitomir Rackovic, who is charged with attacks on Bosniak villages, detention, torture and rape committed in the Visegrad area. On that same day the trial is due to continue in the case against Marinko and Zoran Bjelica, and Novica Tripkovic for crimes in Kalinovik.
The trial of Dzevad Salcin and Nedzad Hodzic, who are charged with crimes on Mount Igman, continues on Thursday with the examination of a Prosecution witness from the United States of America, who will testify via video link.
The continuation of the trials of Vehid Subotic, who is charged with crimes in the Zenica area, and Josip Tolic, who is indicted for crimes in Odzak and Bosanski Brod, is scheduled for Friday.
On that same day the trial is due to continue in the case against Safet Mujcinovic, Selman Busnov, Nusret Muhic, Zijad Hamzic, Ramiz Halilovic, Nedzad Hodzic, Hariz Habibovic, Kahro Vejzovic and Osman Gogic, who are charged with crimes in Kladanj.
The retrial of Mehura Selimovic, Adil Ruznic and Emir Mustafic, who are charged with crimes in Krajina, continues before the Appellate Chamber of the Court of BiH next week.
