The evidence included a decision from 1992, appointing Vlaco Manager of Butmir-Ilidza Penal and Correctional Section located in Vogosca. By presenting a second document, the Prosecution tried to prove that a Nebojsa Spiric was appointed Commander of Guards with that same Section.
It also presented a decision by the Serbian Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina concerning the establishment of institutions, where certain persons would be examined, as well as an order by the Crisis Committee, saying that “Kon-tiki” Motel was put at Serbian Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina’s disposal.
The Defence did not object to these pieces of material evidence.
According to the charges, Vlaco, former Manager of “Bunker”, “Planjina Kuca”, “Kod Sonje” and “Nakina Garaza” detention camps, established a system for punishing detained civilians. The indictment alleges that detainees were abused, forced to perform hard labour and used as human shields, where many of them were killed. Tens of them are still missing. It further alleges that Vlaco raped one female.
The trial is due to continue after the summer break, on August 19.
